As a Commercial Driver License (CDL) Route Driver with Platform Waste Solutions, you will be responsible for servicing assigned route(s) that have anywhere from 1000 to 3000 scheduled stops that collects and hauls the waste and/or recycling materials to a landfill site, transfer station or recycling plant.
This position is a very physically demanding job you will be routinely required to exert physical labor (such as lifting, pushing, and pulling trash receptacles weighing up to approximately 75 lbs. (pounds) from the ground multiple times throughout the workday.)
Drivers can/will be exposed to extreme weather conditions and unpleasant odors and sights. The hours and physical demands may vary by route/area.
Here are the basic things you must know to be considered:
§ Safely operate a Platform Waste Truck and follow the compliance of all local, state, and federal regulations as well as company policy.
§ The Driver will conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections, maintain, and update the Driver Logs and Route Sheets.
§ Provide waste/recycling collection services based on assigned route(s) for customers by emptying trash/recycling containers into the truck and returning containers neatly back at the curb or designated area. Assist in cleanup of waste spills and/or overflows.
§ Complete end-of-day duties such as haul the final collection to the disposal facility, clean truck inside and out, and return equipment to the job site.
§ Maintain a high level of professionalism while representing Platform Waste Solutions.
§ Attend and participate in all scheduled training, briefings and meeting as required by Regional Manager.
§ Other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager.
What we require for this position:
- At least 21 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Have a valid Class A or B CDL
- Entry-level Truck Driver – Less than three (3) years of experience
- Heavy Truck Driver – More than three (3) years of experience
- Must be registered with DOT/FMCSA Clearinghouse
- Must have a valid DOT medical card and the Driver cannot have more than three (3) motor vehicle violations within the last three (3) years
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, perform physical labor, and the ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed
- Must be able to read and speak English well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training
Preferred Skills:
- General mechanic skills
- Ability to drive a truck that has either an automatic or manual transmission
- Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department, or line of business as requested by the Regional Manager

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
