A growing foodservice operation is seeking a dependable and motivated Line Cook to join its kitchen team in Syracuse, NY. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and take pride in preparing quality food while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Available Shifts
- Early Morning: 3:30 AM – 9:00/10:00 AM
- Afternoon/Evening: 12:00/1:00 PM – 8:00/9:00 PM
Position Overview
The Line Cook supports daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients, executing menu items according to established recipes, maintaining food quality standards, and contributing to an efficient and team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare vegetables, proteins, sauces, and other ingredients for daily service
- Cook and assemble menu items according to recipes, quality standards, and customer orders
- Monitor food inventory levels and communicate shortages to management
- Maintain portion control and food presentation standards
- Develop and maintain knowledge of menu offerings and recipes
- Assist with kitchen organization, cleanliness, and end-of-shift duties
- Communicate operational needs and concerns to kitchen leadership
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to pass a security background check and obtain clearance for a secure work environment
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous experience in food service, kitchen operations, housekeeping, or janitorial work is a plus
- Must meet minimum age requirements as applicable by law
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Flexible schedule with availability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods, including shifts up to 10 hours
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while multitasking
- Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, walking, twisting, and climbing
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently
- Ability to push or pull up to 120 pounds using wheeled equipment
- Consistent attendance and punctuality required
