Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring the optimal performance of various diesel-powered vehicles and machinery. The Diesel Mechanic will work closely with other team members to maintain high safety standards and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems in diesel engines and heavy equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as shocks, struts, and hydraulic systems.
- Operate heavy equipment safely while conducting repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Read and interpret schematics to understand systems and components for effective troubleshooting.
- Assemble parts and systems as needed to ensure proper functionality of equipment.
- Conduct heavy lifting as required during repair processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Skills
- Proficiency in working with Caterpillar engines and other diesel systems.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Strong mechanical skills with the ability to weld when necessary.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and their applications in diesel machinery.
- Ability to read schematics for effective diagnosis and repair of mechanical issues.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting tasks associated with the repair of large equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour
