Join Our Fleet Maintenance Team!
The City of Medford is looking for a skilled part-time Fleet Services Mechanic to help keep our vehicles and equipment safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, variety, and being part of a dedicated team. In this role, you’ll help repair and maintain a wide range of City vehicles and equipment, from light-duty trucks to heavy equipment. You’ll use modern diagnostic tools, perform inspections and preventive maintenance, document repairs in fleet maintenance software, and help make sure our fleet stays in top shape.

Required Education and Experience:

Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
-
Three (3) or more years of experience as a mechanic in the repair and maintenance of automobiles, light and heavy trucks, and light and heavy equipment; and

Possession of the following licenses within six (6) months of hire:
-
Air Conditioning Recovery License.

Class A Oregon Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), with air brake endorsement
Preferred Qualifications:-
Possession of certification through one or all the following:
-
ASE in automotive or Heavy truck
-
EVT certification in Police, Fire Apparatus, or Ambulance
ODE
-
Fabrication experience
-
Vehicle upfitting experience
Available Schedule:-
Up to 5 days per week
-
Maximum of 29 hours per week
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The anticipated hiring range for the Fleet Services Mechanic (part-time) position is $32.18 (first step) to $33.78 or $35.47 (second or third step). The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, and qualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Six steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.
