Below is a general description of the LINE COOK
Department: Back of House Operations
Here are the minimum Requirements for Kitchen - Line Cooks:
- Minimum 1 year of previous kitchen experience as kitchen line cook
- Be able to work in a fast-paced, limited space, high volume environment, paying attention to detail
- Must be certified in Safe Food Handling with an understanding of local, state, and federal health and sanitation laws
- Ensures that there be no cross-contamination, improper food handling, and/or storage practices through proper training and supervision
- Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items
- Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the kitchen/station daily. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all required food, paper products, and condiments.
- Complete opening, on-going, and closing checklists are required
- Perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards
- Be in proper uniform during shift
- Other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Physical ability to lift 25 lbs
- The physical ability to balance heavy items
- Stand and walk for long periods of time
