IHSS Caregiver/Driver/Assistant Needed – in 93314 Bakersfield, CA

This a stable, long-term IHSS position with consistent hours. I’m looking for one dependable caregiver to build a long-term working relationship
I require a caregiver who is extremely detail-oriented and able to consistently follow specific instructions and established routines. This position is not a good fit for someone who prefers to work independently or do things their own way. I’m looking for someone who is comfortable following directions precisely and understands that consistency is essential to my care
I am looking for an IHSS-approved caregiver/driver/assistant in the 93314 zip code for immediate hire. This is a permanent position averaging 147 hours per month / 37 hours per week. I am a C3 ASIA C quadriplegic following cervical fusion surgery and require assistance primarily with transportation to appointments, along with daily living support.
Duties (Primary Focus First):
- Driving to and from medical appointments, therapies, and required errands is 80% of the job you Must have a CLEAN and Fully Maintained vehicle capable of transporting a wheelchair
- Accompanying me to appointments and assisting as needed during visits
- Assistance with mobility and transfers
- Bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting only as needed
- Meal planning, preparation, and feeding if needed
- Medication reminders
- Running errands and grocery shopping
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Assisting with ongoing post-surgery and complication-related care
- Any other IHSS-approved support tasks needed for daily living
Requirements / Lifestyle & Behavioral Standards:
- Must be IHSS-approved or able to get approved quickly
- Clean, reliable vehicle required (driving is a major part of this job)
- No smoking, vaping, alcohol, or drug use at any time
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Hygienic and clean appearance
- Patient, calm, and attentive
- Able to follow instructions exactly
- Trustworthy and discreet
- Comfortable assisting with personal care and mobility
- Maintains confidentiality
- Able to work independently without supervision
- Physically capable of lifting, moving, and supporting as needed
- No guests, personal distractions, or excessive phone use while on duty
- Must adhere strictly to household rules and lifestyle preferences
- Must live in or near 93314 ZIP Code for rapid response time within 15 minutes if needed
Pay: IHSS-paid, 147 hours/month, 37 hours/week
