Chris Matthews Automotive is a growing, well-established independent repair shop serving Brunswick County, NC.
We recently surpassed 600 vehicles per month, and I've always believed that my job as the owner is to keep the bays full. Through honesty, integrity, and quality repairs, we've built a customer base that trusts us with their vehicles.

We're looking for an A*/B-Level Automotive Technician* who wants to grow with us.
Who We're Looking For
This position is ideal for a technician who:
- Has solid diagnostic and repair skills
- Wants to continue learning and improving
- Takes pride in quality workmanship

- Wants steady work and excellent earning potential
European vehicle experience (Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, VW) is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair a wide variety of domestic and import vehicles
- Perform drivability, electrical, suspension, brake, engine, and maintenance repairs
- Complete Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVIs) with photos and notes
- Work closely with service advisors
- Maintain a clean, organized work area
- Produce quality work while maintaining efficiency
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional automotive repair experience preferred
- ASE Certifications are a plus
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- NC State Inspector License (or ability to obtain)
- Valid driver's license
- Professional attitude with a willingness to learn
Pay & Benefits
- Competitive flat-rate pay: $25–$45 per flagged hour (based on experience and ability)

Our Shop
We believe in setting clear expectations.
Our current facility has served us well and has allowed us to build an incredible business. While we do not currently have full central air conditioning in the shop, we provide industrial fans, portable cooling units, cold water, and sports drinks during the summer, along with gas heat during the winter.
We're also building for the future. Our long-term vision is a larger, state-of-the-art facility with more space, improved workflow, updated equipment, and yes—cold A/C.
