Position Title: Forklift Driver
Report To: Shipping
Position Summary
The forklift driver is responsible for operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack and count product. Forklift certification is required, and will be done annually. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle. Knowledge of truck sizes and properly building loads as responsibilities include loading trucks while adhering to all truck load requirements and regulations. Must be able to work closely with others, have a good work ethic and be willing to work within a flexible schedules. This is a full-time position
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Must have forklift certification
· Understand weight restrictions
· Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations
· Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas.
· Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
· Pull and prepare product for shipment.
· Work safely in a busy environment to include attention to other drives and pedestrians
· Maintains forklift in neat and clean condition
· Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods
· Follow all Food Safety and GMPs as required by company and position
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
· Must have general computer skills
· Good teamwork and communication skills
· Punctual and reliable
· Ability to work within a flexible schedule
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Experience and Education
· Ability to pass forklift certification on site
· Minimum one year experience driving a forklift in a warehouse environment
· Bilingual English – Spanish required
Working Conditions Working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Able to work in loud, cold and wet environment. Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis. Lift and move up to 30 pounds occasionally. Any specialized tools needed for a specific task, will be provided by the company and are to remain on site in the company designated storage area.
