Operations Manager - Commercial Flooring & Access Systems
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our commercial flooring and access systems operations. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day field and office operations, ensure timely delivery of high-quality flooring and access flooring installations, and drive operational efficiency across projects. This role combines project management, team leadership, and process improvement to meet client expectations and company performance targets.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all operational aspects of commercial flooring and access systems projects from planning through closeout, ensuring scope, schedule and budget adherence.

Serve as primary operations point-of-contact for clients, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to maintain clear communication and strong relationships.

Develop, implement and oversee project schedules, resource allocation, and logistics to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Coordinate and supervise field installation teams and subcontractors, providing technical guidance on flooring and access flooring installation methods and quality standards.

Establish and enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance (OSHA and site-specific requirements) across all job sites.

Manage procurement, vendor performance, and inventory of materials, tools and equipment to minimize downtime and cost overruns.

Track project financials including cost forecasting, change orders, billing support and margin protection.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives by standardizing processes, capturing lessons learned and implementing best practices.

Recruit, train and mentor operations staff, promoting a culture of accountability, quality and professional development.

Prepare operational reports and KPIs for senior management and participate in strategic planning to support growth objectives.
Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

Minimum 5+ years of progressive operations or project management experience in commercial construction, with specific experience in commercial flooring and access flooring systems.

Proven project management skills including scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor management and contract administration.

Hands-on knowledge of flooring materials, installation techniques, and access flooring systems, with ability to provide technical direction to installation teams.

Strong leadership and team development experience with a focus on performance management and safety culture.

Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, Viewpoint, Sage or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Relevant certifications preferred: PMP, CPSM or OSHA 30-hour construction safety training.

Excellent communication, negotiation and client relationship skills; strong problem-solving and decision-making capability.

Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to job sites as required.

Demonstrated ability to drive operational efficiencies, manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver consistent, high-quality results.
