Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers
- Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation throughout all stages of food preparation and service
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting innovative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed to prevent cross-contamination and uphold hygiene standards
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and meet service deadlines
- Keep workstations clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies for smooth kitchen operations
Experience
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant or catering s a plus
- Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking, knife handling, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Experience with meal preparation for large groups or catering events is advantageous
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff and front-of-house teams
- Culinary experience that includes operating kitchen equipment and maintaining cleanliness standards
