Duties
- Assist in food preparation by chopping, peeling, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes according to recipes and standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes, sanitizing workstations, and ensuring proper food handling procedures are followed
- Support the culinary team with high-volume food production during busy service hours while adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures
- Prepare ingredients for cooking methods such as grilling, braising, poaching, and other techniques to ensure timely meal assembly
- Follow recipe adherence meticulously to maintain consistency and quality across all menu items
- Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs or shortages
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food industry roles such as dietary aide, restaurant cook, or catering support is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures is essential for maintaining health standards
- Demonstrated skills in food handling, knife skills, and basic culinary techniques including grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely in high-volume production environments
- Familiarity with menu planning and food production processes to support efficient kitchen operations
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on recipe adherence and quality control
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a positive attitude and teamwork spirit
