Duties
- Dispense prescription medications accurately while adhering to all legal, safety, and regulatory standards, including HIPAA compliance.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy, considering medical history, physiology knowledge, and current health conditions.
- Provide clinical pharmacy services such as medication therapy management, pain management consultations, and immunizations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication regimens and support medical management plans.
- Manage inventory levels efficiently, including medication ordering, stock rotation, and ensuring proper storage conditions for pharmaceuticals.
- Utilize pharmacy software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to document patient interactions accurately and maintain detailed records.
- Maintain a high standard of patient service by addressing questions about medications, side effects, and health concerns in a professional manner.
Experience
- Proven retail pharmacy experience in hospital or retail chain environments with a focus on patient-centered services.
- Experience with pharmacy technician supervision or collaboration to streamline workflow and ensure accuracy in dispensing processes.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems as well as EMR/EHR platforms used in hospital settings for documentation and communication purposes.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to safeguard patient privacy at all times while delivering top-tier pharmaceutical services.
