One Position | Multiple Responsibilities
Shir Chai Co. is looking for a hardworking, dependable, and friendly Front of House Team Member to join our restaurant in North Brunswick, NJ.
This is one combined position where you will be responsible for serving guests, running food, bussing tables, and helping wherever needed throughout the restaurant. We are looking for someone who can easily switch between responsibilities and understands that keeping service running smoothly requires everyone to work together.
The Role
You will not be assigned to just one task for your entire shift. Our team members need to be able to recognize what needs to be done and move between different responsibilities as service changes.
Your responsibilities may include:
- Greeting and assisting guests
- Taking food and beverage orders
- Providing attentive table service
- Delivering food and drinks from the kitchen to guests
- Clearing and resetting tables
- Refilling water and assisting guests with additional requests
- Communicating orders and special requests with the kitchen
- Keeping the dining room clean, organized, and presentable
- Assisting other servers and team members during busy periods
- Helping with opening and closing duties
- Completing side work and cleaning responsibilities
- Stepping into whatever area needs assistance during service
Multitasking & Flexibility Are Essential
The ability to switch between tasks quickly and efficiently is one of the most important parts of this position.
You may be taking an order one moment, running food the next, clearing a table shortly afterward, and then helping another server or guest. We need someone who can adjust to changing priorities without becoming overwhelmed.

Availability
We are especially looking for applicants with strong Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability.
Weekend availability is important due to the volume of business during these days. Additional weekday availability is a plus.
