About Us
DJB Enterprises is a structural steel fabricator and erector serving Arizona’s commercial and industrial construction market. We handle projects from detailing through fabrication to erection — maintaining tight coordination between shop and field to deliver precision, safety, and efficiency every time.
We’re looking for a Operations Manager who can lead crews both in the shop and in the field — someone who takes ownership, leads by example, and knows how to balance schedule, quality, and safety. If you take pride in your work, enjoy solving challenges on the fly, and care about getting the details right, you’ll be a great fit here. For the right long-term candidate, there may be an opportunity to grow into a future ownership role, including potential equity participation in the company.
Operations Manager Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate crews performing fabrication, welding, fitting, and steel erection.
- Read and interpret structural drawings, erection plans, and weld callouts.
- Plan work sequences, manage material flow, and ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Take accurate field dimensions.
- Work alongside the crew when needed — leading by example in both shop and field.
- Ensure work meets AISC tolerances and AWS D1.1 welding standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and crane operators to meet schedules and budget targets.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and enforce OSHA compliance.
- Track progress, time, and materials.
- Perform quality checks prior to delivery or installation.
- Manage equipment inspections, maintenance, and certifications.
Operations Manager Qualifications
- 10+ years experience in structural steel fabrication and erection.
- 5+ years in a leadership or foreman role.
- Ability to read and fully understand architectural and structural plans.
- Strong knowledge of MIG/Flux-Core welding and general fabrication practices.
- Skilled in rigging, crane signaling, and field alignment of steel members.
- Familiar with OSHA standards and safe work procedures.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Forklift, aerial lift, or crane certifications are a plus.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
What We Offer
- A potential pathway to ownership: We are looking for a leader who wants more than just a job. Exceptional team members who demonstrate leadership, commitment, and the ability to help grow the company will have the opportunity to earn equity and become a future partner in the business.
- As a mid-sized, owner-operated company, you’ll have the freedom to make decisions, manage your crews your way, and take real ownership of your projects from start to finish.
- Consistent year-round work (fabrication and erection).
- Supportive team environment built on respect, accountability, and pride in craftsmanship.
- Opportunities for continued skill development — welding, rigging, forklift, crane signaling, and leadership courses.
