Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy machinery to support construction projects, ensuring efficient, safe, and precise operations. Duties
- Operate heavy construction machinery including loaders, backhoes, cranes, bulldozers, and excavators to perform site preparation, grading, material handling, and excavation tasks.
- Safely operate commercial trucks such as front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and farm machinery for transporting materials across job sites.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Follow all equipment safety procedures and occupational safety regulations while operating machinery and handling materials.
- Assist with concrete mixing operations using concrete mixers and manage material placement accurately on site.
- Handle construction materials efficiently using appropriate material handling equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and safety inspections in accordance with company policies.
Skills
- Extensive construction site experience with knowledge of various heavy machinery operations.
- Proficiency in operating cranes, loaders (including front loaders), backhoes, and other construction machinery.
- Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues and performing basic repairs or maintenance.
- Experience with hydraulics systems used in construction equipment for safe operation and repairs.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and effectively during maintenance or setup tasks.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and construction sites.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
- Familiarity with occupational safety standards such as PPE use, hazard recognition, and emergency procedures.
- Knowledge of operating material handling equipment like forklifts or skid steers is advantageous.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining a proactive approach to safety and efficiency.
