Duties
- NYC deliveries
- Safely operate box trucks or personal vehicles for delivery routes, adhering strictly to traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load, unload, and secure goods using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment like pallet jacks.
- Deliver products directly to customers’ locations, providing friendly and professional customer service throughout each interaction.
- Plan efficient routes using mobile devices to optimize delivery times and improve overall productivity.
- Assist with warehouse operations including inventory checks, stock organization, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace.
- Use manual transmission vehicles where applicable, demonstrating safe driving practices during all route drives.
- Load and unload shipments accurately while following safe lifting practices to prevent injury during heavy lifting or moving tasks.
Requirements
- CDL not required.
- Clean driving record required.
- Proven experience as a truck driver or warehouse associate with knowledge of warehouse operations and material handling equipment operation.
- Valid driver’s license, experience operating a box truck is preferred.
- Confidently and adhere to all traffic regulations for safe driving.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when interacting with clients during deliveries.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects safely, perform manual handling tasks, and move materials efficiently in a warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with mobile devices for route navigation and communication purposes.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to weight handling in the workplace and safe lifting practices is highly desirable.
