Industrial Electrician / Maintenance Technician
Salary Range based on experience: $80K - $110K
Monday - Friday 7 AM - 5 PM & Rotating Weekends
Paving Stone Manufacturing Facility
Position Summary
The Industrial Electrician/Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and electromechanical systems in a high-production paving stone manufacturing plant. This role supports production uptime by diagnosing failures, performing preventative maintenance, and improving equipment reliability across mixers, block machines, conveyors, hydraulic systems, curing systems, and automated handling equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot and repair 480V 3-phase industrial power systems
- Diagnose faults in motors, VFDs, soft starters, sensors, relays, contactors, and control circuits
- Maintain motor control centers (MCCs)
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Install and terminate conduit, cable tray, and industrial wiring
- Replace and align electric motors
- Troubleshoot electrical issues causing downtime in production equipment
PLC & Automation Support
- Diagnose PLC-controlled equipment (Allen Bradley / Siemens or similar)
- Replace and configure sensors, encoders, limit switches, and proximity switches
- Work with HMIs to identify machine faults
- Assist with minor PLC program modifications (preferred but not required)
- Maintain automated cubing and material handling systems
Mechanical / Hydraulic Support
- Troubleshoot hydraulic solenoids and electrically controlled valves
- Assist with mechanical repairs to keep production running
- Work with pneumatic systems, air valves, and compressors
- Support block machine vibration tables and feeders
- Perform alignment, adjustments, and calibration of production equipment
Preventative Maintenance
- Perform scheduled PM inspections on all production equipment
- Inspect wear items and replace them before failure
- Maintain maintenance logs and service reports
- Identify recurring issues and recommend permanent solutions
- Participate in shutdown maintenance and rebuilds
Safety & Compliance
- Follow OSHA and plant safety procedures
- Perform Lock-Out / Tag-Out (LOTO)
- Work safely around heavy industrial equipment
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Ensure electrical work meets NEC standards
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of industrial electrical or maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting ability in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with 480V systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Comfortable working in dusty/heavy industrial environments
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb ladders
Preferred (But Not Required)
- Experience in concrete, block, asphalt, quarry, or similar heavy industry
- PLC troubleshooting experience
- VFD programming knowledge
- Hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting
- Welding or fabrication ability
