We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities
- Duties include but not limited to:
- Bookkeeping for small businesses using QuickBooks Desktop
- Prepare tax returns using Lacerte – individuals, C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, LLC, Nonprofit
- Prepare payroll & sales tax return
Desired Qualifications:
- CPA or EA preferred
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Experience resolving tax notices from IRS and FTB
- Can Work independently
- Must have an experience with Lacerte
- Must have an experience with QuickBooks Desktop
- Knowledge of Excel and Word

- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining accurate records.
- Reconcile balance sheets and general ledger accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and summaries that reflect the organization’s financial position accurately.
- Assist with payroll management using systems like ADP, Paychex, UltiPro, or Ceridian, ensuring proper processing of employee wages and tax filings.
- Support internal controls and compliance efforts related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and governmental accounting standards.
- Collaborate on budget preparation, account analysis, and financial forecasting to aid strategic planning.
- Conduct audits and assist external auditors by providing necessary documentation related to account reconciliation and financial transactions.
- Maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions while adhering to data security protocols.
- Stay updated on relevant tax regulations and ensure timely submission of tax filings when applicable.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or bookkeeping with a strong understanding of GAAP and governmental accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Workday, or similar platforms; experience with payroll systems like ADP or Paychex is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of technical accounting principles including journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, balance sheet reconciliation, debits & credits.
- Familiarity with financial concepts such as budgeting, credit analysis, account analysis, and account reconciliation.
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy; experience with 10 key typing is preferred.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data quickly and accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across departments and supporting audit processes.
- A background in public accounting or non-profit accounting is a plus; familiarity with governmental reporting requirements is advantageous.
