Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks and trailers to deliver freight efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise in commercial driving, load handling, and vehicle operation will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles to transport freight across multiple routes
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring proper handling and securement of goods
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and fluid levels
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and route reports in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Follow designated routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations; communicate proactively with dispatch regarding delivery status or issues
- Assist with loading or unloading freight when necessary, especially for specialized cargo like refrigerated or hazardous materials
- Ensure the secure transport of various types of freight including freight requiring special handling such as tanker loads or flatbed cargo
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements appropriate for the vehicle type (e.g., Class A or B)
- Proven experience operating trucks with manual transmissions and driving different trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks
- Strong knowledge of trucking regulations, safety standards, and route driving best practices
- Experience with load securement techniques for diverse freight types including freight requiring specialized equipment or handling procedures
- Ability to perform manual tasks related to load & unload operations; familiarity with forklift operation is a plus
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance
- Physical ability to handle cargo loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
