Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and assist with setting up therapy equipment for patient sessions
- Support physical therapists by helping patients with exercises and mobility activities under supervision
- Manage patient intake procedures, including gathering medical histories and updating charts accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy spaces to ensure safety and efficiency
- Monitor patient comfort during therapy sessions and report any concerns or changes to the clinical team
- Assist with documentation of treatment activities, progress notes, and other administrative tasks
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, medical terminology standards, and safety guidelines during all activities
Skills
- Strong patient service orientation with a compassionate approach to care
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices
- Prior hospital or outpatient clinic experience preferred, especially in orthopedics, geriatrics, or post-acute care environments
- Familiarity with inpatient, outpatient, sub-acute care, or hospital medicine settings is highly desirable
- Ability to follow detailed instructions for patient intake and therapy assistance procedures
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for supporting patient care in fast-paced clinical environments
