An international logistics company is seeking a Japanese / English Bilingual Business Manager to oversee warehouse operations across eight warehouse locations while supporting business development initiatives. This position is based in East Rutherford, NJ and will spend approximately 80% of the time at the New Jersey warehouse, with occasional travel to other facilities. This is s fulltime, permanent and 100 Onsite work setting.
Japanese / English Bilingual Business Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations across eight warehouse locations to ensure efficient and consistent performance.
- Monitor warehouse productivity, inventory accuracy, safety, and operational KPIs.
- Coordinate with warehouse supervisors and branch management to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and implement operational improvements and best practices.
- Support business expansion by identifying new business opportunities and assisting with sales and customer relationship management.
- Collaborate with freight forwarding, transportation, and warehouse teams to provide integrated logistics solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while supporting new customer acquisition.
- Prepare operational reports, analyze performance metrics, and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and safety regulations.
- Travel to warehouse locations as needed to support operations and business growth.
- Other duties as assigned
Japanese / English Bilingual Business Manager Requirements:
- Fluent in both Japanese and English (spoken and written) more than business level
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, supply chain, or a related field
- Experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment is also welcome.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between warehouse locations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Experience in freight forwarding, 3PL, warehouse management, or distribution operations
- Business development or customer relationship management experience
- Experience managing multiple locations or regional operations
- Experience using WMS, ERP, or inventory management systems
- Knowledge of import/export and international logistics operations
