The Senior Equity Research Associate will be expected to assist the Senior Analyst in developing proprietary research reports, comprehensive financial and valuation models, in addition to communicating company specific investment theses to Northcoast’s institutional investment management clients. Further, the Associate is expected to be detail oriented and possess strong organization, interpersonal, and writing skills. The expectation is that the Senior Associate will develop into a Senior Research Analyst within a 2-3 year period.
The Senior Research Associate will be responsible for assisting the research analyst in a number of ways, including, but not limited to, the following:
- Research and analyze an industry and group of companies
- Provide support to the Senior Analyst through fundamental analysis and investment recommendation in equity markets with an emphasis on original, bottom-up research
- Communicate research findings to sales executives, traders and our clients
- Develop and maintain detailed financial and valuation models
- Construct industry and company-specific research
- Develop and maintain relationships with senior management teams of companies under coverage
- Cultivate industry contacts and develop proprietary research methods
Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, and/or Economics
- 3-4 years of work experience in financial services, accounting, and/or corporate finance
- Understanding of the capital markets, stock markets, and a passion for investing
- Integrity, teamwork, and strong work ethic
- A history of demonstrated academic and professional success
- Excellent communication, research, writing, and organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task
- Ability to thrive in a fast- paced, deadline-driven environment with a proven commitment to turning in consistently high quality work as a self- starter
- Team oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Progress towards FINRA Series 7, 63, 86 and 87 licenses preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- A willingness to travel
