About the Role
RJ Powersports in Fort Dodge Iowa is hiring a Setup & Accessory Installation Technician to assemble new units and install accessories on ATVs, UTVs, motorcycles, dirt bikes, and other powersports vehicles. You’ll be the person who transforms crates into showroom-ready machines and ensures every customer’s unit is equipped exactly how they ordered it.
Key Responsibilities
Unit Setup & Assembly
- Uncrate, assemble, and prepare new units following OEM specifications.
- Complete full Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) and ensure proper operation.
- Document all PDI work accurately in Lightspeed.
Accessory Installation
- Install plows, roofs, windshields, bumpers, winches, light bars, racks, doors, audio systems, and other customer-requested accessories.
- Perform clean, professional installations that meet RJ Powersports quality standards.
Quality & Workflow
- Inspect units for shipping damage or missing parts; report issues immediately.
- Maintain an organized, safe work environment and follow all shop procedures.
- Clock in/out properly for all jobs in Lightspeed.
- Assist with staging inventory, moving units, and general lot/shop support.
Team Collaboration
- Communicate with the Service Manager and Service Writer on timelines.
- Work alongside techs and porters to keep unit flow on schedule.
- Represent RJ Powersports professionally at all times.
Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude or experience in powersports, automotive, small engine, or similar fields.
- Ability to install accessories using hand tools and follow detailed instructions.
- Able to lift 50+ lbs and work actively throughout the day.
- Valid driver’s license (motorcycle endorsement is a plus).
- Reliable, consistent attendance—this role is essential for unit delivery timelines.
