Position Summary:
Perform inspections and testing of materials, parts and components used in the manufacture of a wide range of cables and hoses for both onshore and offshore application.
Core Responsibilities:
Documentation:
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering mechanical drawings and cable drawings, including electrical test requirements.
- Ability to read, understand and follow procedures, work instructions, work orders and forms.
- Record inspection and test results, maintain traceability, and report nonconforming products or materials.
- Maintain manufacturing and inspection documentation.
Testing:
- Capable of using electrical test equipment such as megohmmeters, high voltage tester, network analyzer, and fiber optic tester.
- Perform electrical testing, including conductor resistance, insulation resistance, high voltage, impedance and fiber optic attenuation.
- Ability to use a pressure test cart.
- Perform pressure testing on hoses and hose assemblies.
Inspections:
- Skilled in using various measuring devices including digital calipers, micrometers, and thread gages.
- Ability to perform receiving, in-process, and final inspection and testing in accordance with internal and external requirements for cables, hoses, umbilical's, molded parts, machined parts, and related products.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- 1 - 3 years in cable and hose manufacturing and testing preferred.
- Directly related experience is a plus.
Skills:
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Proficient in use of hand tools such as cutters, pliers, knives, wire strippers, and related tools.
- Good communication skills.
- Proficient in computer skills, Micrsoft Word and Excel.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push and pull at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, kneel, reach and sit for extended periods of time.
Pay: $24.21 - $29.16 per hour
