Join our Heights Charter team as a School Nurse (must be CNA), where your compassionate care and clinical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the health and well-being of elementary school students. In this vital role, you will support students by providing essential medical services, managing patient care, and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all students. We are looking for a caring individual who prioritizes kindness and effective communication with both staff and parents. Being bilingual is a bonus (some of our students speak Spanish and many of our students' parents only speak Spanish). This paid position offers a dynamic opportunity to develop your skills in an educational setting while promoting health education and safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient assessments, including taking vital signs and recording medical histories.
- Provide first aid and emergency response care, including CPR and basic life support procedures, to students experiencing injuries or sudden illnesses.
- Support infection control protocols by maintaining cleanliness of medical equipment and ensuring adherence to care facility infection control standards.
- Help with patient transfer methods, including safe manual handling techniques for moving students or staff requiring assistance.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and confidentiality in compliance with privacy regulations while managing student health records.
- Communicate effectively with caregivers, staff, and healthcare providers to coordinate patient care plans and follow-up procedures.
- Support the operation of medical equipment and assist in managing outpatient or clinic-based health services within the school environment.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
