Visage Dermatology is seeking an experienced Dermatology Medical Assistant/Clinical Coordinator to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone with prior dermatology back-office experience who is organized, compassionate, and comfortable managing patient care independently.
This is a fast-paced role that requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate care for patients with skin cancer and other dermatologic conditions.
Responsibilities
- Notify patients of biopsy and pathology results, including malignant diagnoses, with professionalism and compassion.
- Coordinate and schedule skin cancer surgeries, Mohs surgery, and other dermatologic procedures.
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and surgeries.
- Process prescription refill requests promptly and accurately.
- Review pathology reports and ensure timely patient follow-up.
- Coordinate referrals and outside records when needed.
- Assist providers with patient messages, clinical documentation, and daily workflow.
- Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, laboratories, and referring physicians.
- Help maintain a smooth, efficient clinical workflow while delivering exceptional patient care.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of dermatology back-office experience required.
- Experience discussing pathology results with patients preferred.
- Knowledge of skin cancer treatment pathways, Mohs surgery scheduling, and dermatology procedures.
- Experience with insurance prior authorizations.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent phone etiquette and compassionate patient communication.
- Experience with ModMed EMA is a plus.
- Current Medical Assistant certification is preferred but not required for experienced dermatology candidates.
