Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and maintaining accurate financial records. Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks.
- Conduct general ledger accounting, including month-end closing activities and detailed account analysis.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory standards through meticulous documentation and internal controls.
- Perform data entry tasks with high accuracy, utilizing Excel data analysis skills to support financial reporting and audits.
- Reconcile accounts regularly, including bank statements, intercompany transactions, and subsidiary ledgers like Workday or PeopleSoft.
- Assist with budgeting, tax preparation, and financial planning activities while handling confidential information responsibly.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve accounting systems and streamline workflows for increased efficiency.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to internal inquiries related to financial data or account status.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with strong knowledge of accounting concepts such as debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and journal entries.
- Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards along with experience in governmental or non-profit accounting preferred.
- Ability to perform account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger accounting accurately.
- Strong numeracy skills complemented by proficiency in Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management.
- Experience handling confidential information with integrity while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and providing clear explanations of complex financial data.
