Warehouse Team Leader
To lead the warehouse team maximizing their efficiency and productivity and to effectively service internal and external customers.
Job Duties
1. Coordinate efforts with operations manager to maintain efficient warehouse operations.
2. Coordinate efforts to ensure accuracy of the cycle counting process. Investigate discrepancies to identify and correct problem areas, minimize the number of discrepancies and reduce company losses. Inform managers of problems and/or suggestions, which require greater company involvement. Take action necessary to achieve annual cycle count accuracy metric.
3. Coordinate efforts to ensure accuracy in the receiving process, coordinate efforts with purchasing and accounting to correct any discrepancies.
4. Utilize team members to provide accurate and timely physical distribution of inventory: putting away parts, warehouse transferring, and expediting customer orders.
5. Provide warehouse personnel with product and procedural training, as related to their warehouse duties.
6. Reduce the amount of non-stock, not committed inventory by coordinating with sales and purchasing personnel to immediately expedite supplier returns. Physically inspect material and advise salesperson of non-resalable parts. Ensure timely and accurate processing of supplier returns.
7 Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness.
8. Ensure efficient routing of shipments and deliveries.
9. Responsible for building and vehicle maintenance. Update database records of truck maintenance and repairs. Ensure that pedestrian entrances are free from ice and snow. Advise Branch Manager of needed building repairs. Advise Operations (Safety) Manager of any unsafe conditions.
10. Coordinate efforts with purchasing and sales to provide pick ups at local vendors.
11. Research shipping errors and communicate findings to necessary personnel.
12. Review pertinent reports and take appropriate action. Advise Branch or Operations Manager of areas that require management oversight or decisions.
13. Assist sales staff with counter customer pick ups.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
