This role is responsible for creating critical first impressions of our referral partners, fellow business owners and potential customers. They will be responsible for evoking confidence with our customers and prospects in our Insurance Agency. This individual is expected to attend events and conferences to promote the company’s products and services. This position reports directly to the VP and COO of the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Articulate the overall Agency value proposition of its products to partners and prospects in product demonstrations and industry events.
- Achieve revenue targets.
- Develop/Maintain an in-depth knowledge of Insurance products and services and utilize this knowledge to successfully demonstrate and sell services to new and existing referral partners in assigned territory or customer segment.
- Research market conditions in assigned territory and create and execute strategies to meet or exceed established sales goals.
- Identify and target potential referral partners in assigned territory by using multiple sales techniques; cold-calling, email, webinar, targeted marketing, etc.
- Analyze competitor activity and assess opportunities for business development.
- Build long-term, productive, and mutually beneficial relationships with existing and new partners.
- Meet with existing partners, customers, and prospects in sales territory to understand their evolving business needs and position product solutions to meet surfaced needs.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and events, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Records all customer and prospect related activity in CRM and complete weekly and monthly reports as requested.
- Work collaboratively and cohesively with Producers, Account Management, Support, Product Management, Development, and other cross functional teams to ensure overall success.
- Provide input to other cross-functional departments, Implementation, Marketing and Product Development teams, pertaining to prospective referral partner requests, as needed.
- Assist in development of key market campaigns with marketing team
- Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships. Must be able to get along with others, i.e., peers, supervisors, outside referral partners, and vendors.
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management, employees and customers by email, phone and in person.
- Must be personable, positive, and a professional representative of the Company.
- Assume additional responsibilities as needed.
- Assist internal support of Social Media, Videos, Web Posts, and SEO.
Business Development Representative Requirements:
- 1-2 years of non-profit, charity, fundraising, marketing, or customer service experience
- Strong desire to continue learning and developing professional skill sets
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
