Join our dynamic night shift team as a Forklift Operator, where your expertise in warehouse operations and equipment handling will keep our distribution center running smoothly and efficiently. This role is perfect for motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong safety awareness, and are bilingual in Spanish and English. As a key player in materials handling and inventory management, you’ll ensure the safe and accurate movement of goods, supporting our commitment to excellence in warehouse distribution. Your skills will directly contribute to maintaining high safety standards and operational efficiency during overnight hours.
Responsibilities
- Operate various types of material handling equipment including reach trucks, forklifts (lift trucks), clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and Hi-Lo forklifts to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse.
- Safely load and unload shipments, ensuring proper stacking and secure placement of products on pallets or shelves.
- Conduct routine inspections and minor repairs on equipment to maintain optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Use barcode scanning systems and warehouse management systems (WMS) to accurately track inventory movements, order picking, shipping, and receiving processes.
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stock counts, cycle counts, and updating inventory records to ensure accuracy.
- Follow OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) safety protocols and warehouse safety standards to prevent accidents during heavy lifting or manual handling activities.
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials efficiently, adhering to shipping schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety standards in production environments.
Experience
- Proven experience operating warehouse equipment such as reach trucks, forklift trucks, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, or Hi-Lo forklifts in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations including order picking, shipping & receiving, inventory management, and materials handling.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and barcode scanning for logistics purposes.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to forklift safety protocols and heavy equipment operation.
- Previous experience in warehouse supervision or leadership roles is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts and measurement calculations are essential.
