Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Relocation Coordinator to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients navigating housing transitions, ensuring a smooth and supportive relocation process. Your expertise will help individuals and families secure stable housing, especially those from underserved communities or experiencing high-risk situations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by coordinating housing solutions, managing complex cases, and advocating for clients’ needs with professionalism and empathy.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of client relocations, including housing searches, lease negotiations, and move-in logistics
- Collaborate with property management teams, landlords, and housing assistance programs such as LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8, and HUD regulations to secure suitable accommodations
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ needs related to mental health conditions, addiction recovery, or other social service requirements
- Utilize property management tools and case management systems to track client progress and document interactions
- Advocate for clients by negotiating lease terms, addressing crisis situations, and providing crisis intervention when necessary
- Offer guidance on landlord-tenant law and fair housing regulations to ensure compliance and protect client rights
- Support high-risk populations through motivational interviewing, crisis management, and culturally sensitive communication strategies
Skills
- Strong negotiation skills to facilitate lease agreements and resolve conflicts effectively
- Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness or facing housing insecurity
- Knowledge of housing assistance programs including LIHTC, Section 8, and other HUD-funded initiatives
- Familiarity with social work principles, crisis intervention techniques, and addiction counseling methods
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and communication purposes
- Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse communities and underserved populations
- Understanding of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, and property management practices
- Excellent client communication skills with a focus on motivational interviewing and empathetic listening
- Capable of managing complex cases involving mental health conditions or substance use challenges
