Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to maintain cleanliness and availability for daily operations
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, assembling ingredients, and portioning items according to menu specifications
- Support the culinary team in meal preparation by following recipes and safety guidelines
- Ensure proper food handling procedures are followed to maintain hygiene standards and prevent cross-contamination
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sinks, dishwashers, storage areas, and prep stations
- Help with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supplies needed
- Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation procedures to uphold health regulations
Requirements
- Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Experience with menu planning, food preparation, cooking, or food service environments is preferred
- Strong knowledge of food handling safety practices and sanitation standards
- Basic knife skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques
- Previous kitchen or restaurant experience demonstrates ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and work collaboratively with team members
