Sr. Construction Estimator
Senior Construction Cost Estimator - Multi-Family Affordable Housing
We are a nonprofit affordable housing developer, looking for a Senior Construction Cost Estimator to take a leadership role in shaping how projects get priced and planned, from the earliest feasibility conversations through final buyout.
Reporting to the VP of Construction Estimating, this is a role that touches nearly every part of the organization, since accurate estimates are what let design, budget, and schedule actually line up.
Owning the estimates
- Build cost estimates at every level of detail, from rough concept to fully detailed
- Run quantity take offs and cost analyses on active projects
- Maintain and continually refine the company's Historical Cost Model
- Compare actual project costs against original estimates to sharpen future forecasting
Leading pre-construction
- Drive pre-construction planning, budgeting, and pipeline management across multiple projects at once
- Evaluate design decisions and construction methods for their cost impact
- Support bid packaging, contract development, and the buyout process
Working across the organization
- Coordinate regularly with development, operations, accounting, consultants, and trade partners
- Build and manage CPM schedules to support planning and budgeting decisions
What we're looking for
- Five plus years of construction cost estimating experience
- Five plus years working on multi-family or affordable housing projects specifically
- Experience with Type III/V and Type I podium construction
- Prior senior estimator or leadership experience preferred
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines
- Proficiency in Smartsheet, Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office
- A bachelor's degree in construction management, business, or equivalent experience
Benefits
Annual salary: $125,000 - $150,000 (depending on experience)
