Full-Time Seasonal Tasting Room Wine Educator
About the Role
We are a small, family-owned boutique winery where wine is personal, hospitality is genuine, and every tasting is an opportunity to create a meaningful connection.
We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Full-Time Seasonal Tasting Room Wine Educator to join our team. In this role, you will welcome guests into our winery, guide them through educational wine tastings, and share the stories behind our wines, vineyards, and winemaking traditions.
We believe that a memorable tasting is about more than what is in the glass. It is about helping guests feel comfortable, encouraging curiosity, and making wine approachable and enjoyable—regardless of how much they already know.
You do not need to be a wine expert to apply. We are happy to teach the right person. What matters most is a genuine interest in wine, a love of working with people, and a desire to provide thoughtful, personal hospitality.
What You’ll Do
- Warmly welcome guests and help them feel at home in our tasting room
- Lead engaging, educational wine tastings tailored to each guest’s interests and level of wine knowledge
- Share the story of our winery, vineyards, winemaking philosophy, and wines
- Explain wine styles, tasting techniques, production methods, and food-pairing ideas in an approachable way
- Help guests discover wines that suit their preferences
- Recommend wine, food experiences, merchandise, and wine club membership without creating a high-pressure sales environment
- Prepare and serve wine tastings, glasses, bottles, and food-pairing experiences
- Process purchases accurately using our POS system
- Assist with special events, group tastings, and winery experiences
- Maintain a clean, organized, welcoming environment throughout the day
- Follow all food-safety and responsible alcohol-service requirements
- Work closely with our small team to provide a consistent and memorable guest experience
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is:
- Warm, personable, and comfortable starting conversations with new people
- Genuinely interested in wine, food, hospitality, and learning
- A confident communicator who can explain information in a friendly and engaging way
- Attentive to details and able to recognize what each guest needs
- Comfortable working in an active, guest-focused environment
- Dependable, flexible, and supportive of fellow team members
- Able to balance education, hospitality, and sales naturally
- Available to work a full-time seasonal schedule, including weekends and holidays
Previous experience in a winery, tasting room, restaurant, hotel, retail, or another hospitality setting is preferred, but it is not required. Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, wine service, or food pairings is helpful. Most importantly, we are looking for someone with the right personality, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
Why Join Us?
This is an opportunity to become part of a close-knit team at a boutique winery where your contribution truly matters. You will expand your wine knowledge, strengthen your hospitality skills, meet guests from around the world, and help create the kind of personal experiences that visitors remember long after they leave.
