The Phoenix Fire Department (PFD) is committed to providing the highest level of public safety services to our community. We protect lives and property through fire suppression, emergency medical and transportation services, disaster response, fire prevention, and public education. Our members strive every day to Prevent Harm, Survive, and Be Nice! We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant I in the Executive Office to support this mission.
The PFD employs over 2,500 personnel, including approximately 1,950 sworn firefighters, and operates 60 stations across 9 battalions. As a largely self-service department, PFD manages key internal functions such as Fiscal, Human Resources and Payroll, and Technical Services.
The PFD also houses the Community Assistance Program (CAP), which provides behavioral health crisis response and short term case management. The department operates its own fully owned and managed regional Emergency Medical Services (EMS) division, overseeing certification and training. Its 24/7 Regional Dispatch Center serves 26 jurisdictions across more than 2,000 square miles. PFD runs its own Training Academy to support continuous firefighter development and operational readiness.
The Administrative Assistant I supports the Executive Office by coordinating executive schedules and meetings, streamlining administrative processes, preparing executive communications and reports, and serving as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and community members.
