Job Summary

Duties
- Thoroughly wash dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment using proper dishwashing techniques and sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, portioning, and organizing ingredients in line with food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, sinks, and storage areas through regular cleaning routines
- Support food handling activities by ensuring proper storage and labeling of ingredients to prevent cross-contamination
- Buss tables and clear dining areas promptly to support efficient service flow
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other small appliances following safety protocols
- Handle heavy lifting of supplies and equipment with proper manual handling techniques to ensure safety at all times
Skills
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic culinary skills
- Strong understanding of cleaning and sanitation standards within a food service environment
- Experience with dishwashing procedures and maintaining kitchen hygiene standards
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Excellent manual handling skills for lifting heavy items safely
- Previous restaurant or catering experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization in a fast-paced setting
