Position Overview
The Business Services Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the Business Services team and its members. Duties include assisting with loan documentation, disbursement, and the maintenance and servicing of loan files. Preparing credit requests for presentation to Credit Committee, gathering financial statements from business members and preparing annual loan reviews. Requires direct contact with members. Additional responsibilities include assisting with Business Services deposit operations.
Major Responsibilities
1. Manage loan and deposit documentation to perfect collateral and remain in compliance with loan regulations,
guidelines, and policies.
2. Proactively contact members to coordinate closing and obtain necessary financial information and other required
documentation to support loan files.
3. Gather financial information and enter data into spread sheet in preparation for Credit committee.
4. Coordinate with Mortgage department to order appraisals, title work, flood determinations, tax verifications, and
complete various searches based on the type of loan transaction.
5. Review title commitments and organizational documents for completeness and ensure they fall within guidelines.
6. Prepare accurate and complete loan documents, disburse loan proceeds as approved, and maintain collateral files.
7. Handle member and employee questions regarding business products.
8. Review the loan files for documentation accuracy.
9. Maintain loan documentation file including tracking loan conditions and following up on any exceptions.
10. Maintain knowledge of lender's underwriting criteria.
11. Process payments, advances, pay downs, payoffs, and maintenance as requested by the loan officers or loan
operations manager making sure to have the appropriate approvals.
12. Minimize Loan losses and exceptions through accurate documentation.
13. Prepare and present a Credit Memo to appropriate approval level for modifications, renewals, and annual reviews.
14. Assist with collection activities for the business services loan portfolio.
15. Assist with the design and development of the MSCU Small Business Lending Program, Policies and Procedures.
16. Ability to apply critical thinking and make decisions.
17. Projects professionalism in both appearance and attitude when dealing with members to present a positive Mainstreet
Credit Union image.
18. Manage workflows, pipelines, and compliance requirements for business services team.
Required Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years business documentation, underwriting, and/or loan processing experience.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Ability to work independently without supervision, self-directed and growth oriented.

Takes initiative and uses good judgement in making appropriate decisions.

Understands and observes all laws and regulations that relate to commercial lending.

Ability to work as a team member.

Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Proficient with proactively sourcing, acquiring, building, and maintaining relationships with members and colleagues.

Proficient reading and understanding financial statements and tax returns.

Display professional and positive attitude, behavior, and appearance.

Completion of appropriate Credit Union “in house” resource curriculum that covers such areas as supervision, management, cross selling, lending functions, credit union philosophy and other pertinent subjects relating to this position.

Personal computer skills, moderate typing, and general office equipment
Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years’ banking experience.

Underwriting experience.

SBA experience.
