DEPARTMENT: Fitness/Outdoor Pool
III. JOB SUMMARY:
Possess current knowledge and necessary specialized skills to consistently lead and instruct a group of individuals with a wide range of fitness levels through an organized and choreographed class while encouraging members to reach their fitness and wellness goals. Energetic and outgoing teaching style a plus, past aqua fitness instruction desired, CPR certified. Class offered 9am to 10am Monday through Friday. Responsible for 2-3 classes per week.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet, introduce and welcome participants

Acquaint new participants with class procedures

Deliver the class in a fun and interesting manner

Monitor proper form and technique using positive reinforcement

Promote classes and assist in promotions and events

Stay after class to answer questions and interact with members

Obtain substitutes as needed

Maintain a desire for continual current education and improvement

Instruct with a positive and encouraging attitude at all times

1-3 hours per week

$30 when teaching and $10-$11 per hour during down time before and after class
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Possess outstanding customer service skills
Strong organizational and communication skills required
Excel at building relationships with a variety of individuals
Able to create a positive team environment with other staff
MIINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
BS or current student in fitness related field, fitness certified for 1+ years or fitness experience for 1+years
National Certification with ACE, ACSM, Les Mills, NASM, AFAA or appropriate aquatics certification
