Aircraft Maintenance (A&P) Instructor, US Aviation Academy
Location – Denton, Tx
Need Flexible Individual may need to flex from day to evening shift - Full Time Day: 7:00 am – 4:00 Mon-Fri or Evening: 1:00 - 11:00 pm Mon - Thursday (4 - 10 hr shift).
US Aviation Academy is a FAA Part 147 Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic school with facilities in Texas, Minnesota and Georgia. As one of our instructors, you will be shaping the next generation of A&Ps that the industry so desperately needs in a growing and unique school setting.
Job requirements
- A&P Certification current and valid
- 3 Years of recent aircraft maintenance experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and etc.
- Clean driving record
- Be able to pass a background check
- Be able to follow school and FAA part 147 procedures and regulations
- Punctuality
- Instruct students with varying backgrounds and ages
- Instruct and control classes of up to 25 students in a shop/lab, hangar, airport and classroom environment
- Prepare and demonstrate proper aviation tool usage and safety practices
- Prepare projects, lessons, tests, quizzes and grade
- May require work outside of normal hours and a flexible schedule
- Be able to lift 50 pounds, work in and around aircraft in various positions
Preferred
- Teaching experience
- Advanced composite/sheet metal experience
- Advanced avionics/electrical experience
- Turbine experience
- IA certification

Responsibilities
- Teach students the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the aviation maintenance industry.
- Utilize hands-on training methods and up-to-date cirriculum to ensure that students obtain the necessary competencies for FAA Certification.
- Utilize teaching tools such as Blackboard and Microsoft Office to enhance learning experiences.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
- Manage classroom and laboratory environments to provide a safe and engaging learning experience.
