HMD is currently looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to handle our recently updated and rapidly growing fleet. This exciting opportunity is perfect for organized forward thinking individuals with a strong sense of urgency. Working out of our Chicagoland facility, responsibilities will include:
- Organize and manage our physical truck and trailer assets in Chicago Ridge.
- Prep and assign tractors to new hires while performing equipment walk-throughs to give an overview of the truck.
- Communicate consistently with on-site shop to help manage inventory and available assets.
- Monitor and manage mileage of trucks on the road and work with operations to rotate equipment assignments as needed to maintain fleet balance.
- Inspect vacated trucks to assess any damage incurred while in use.
- Other periodic clerical duties as needed.
- Working Hours: Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 4:30pm
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CDL A preferred.
- Basic knowledge of DOT rules and regulations.
- Highly organized.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written,) dealing with individuals at all levels; comfortable to represent the company in the best possible light, using various means of communication (presentations, customer briefs, etc.)
- A strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to work with various departments (Operations, Safety, Shop) across locations to resolve challenges
- Capable of building strong relationships internally & externally.
- Capable of prioritizing various tasks among team.
