Position: Compliance/Metrics Specialist

The Compliance/Metrics Specialist is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting program data from all available sources to identify trends and prepare reports for senior leadership. This role leads all compliance monitoring activities, developing a thorough understanding of applicable regulations to conduct regular audits and assessments of MTF programs. The specialist identifies potential risks, develops mitigation strategies, and drives process improvements in data collection and program efficiency.
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret program data from available sources (e.g., IDPR, VTA, QAP, AFPC Case Return Rate) to identify trends
- Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for senior leadership
- Lead compliance monitoring activities for MTF programs
- Conduct regular audits and Staff Assistance Visits (SAVs) for lower-performing MTFs; develop pre-visit checklists and comprehensive After-Action Reports (AARs)
- Manage the MEB Quality Assurance Program (QAP) by reviewing cases returned by the Physical Evaluation Board (PEB)
- Monitor and track MTF/VA MOU status and compliance with governing regulations
- Develop and execute risk-based mitigation strategies to address identified program deficiencies
- Drive process improvements in data collection and program efficiency
- Act as liaison with AFPC Disability Operations Quality Assurance office to resolve performance issues
- Maintain expert-level knowledge of governing regulations (DoD, VA, DAF, NDAA)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in management, business, healthcare administration, or relevant healthcare specialties (e.g., health information management, nursing management). Education substitution: An additional four (4) years of direct experience as described in the experience requirement may be substituted for the degree.
- Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in the military healthcare environment with in-depth knowledge of AFMS organization, mission, and operations gained within the last two (2) years
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience working directly within the DoD Disability Evaluation System (DES) or as a PEBLO
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the creation, storage, and retrieval of data in DAF and Military Health Service systems
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the DES process and DoD DES guidelines through prior experience creating training materials
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must successfully complete a Tier 1 (T1) background investigation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience conducting formal audits, inspections, or process improvement assessments
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, data visualization, and reporting tools
- Supervisory experience in a compliance or quality assurance setting
