We specialize in sourdough artisan breads, laminated pastries, desserts, sandwiches, and specialty beverages, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern production techniques. The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Head Chef to lead our bread and kitchen program — a calm, steady leader who carries every loaf with care for texture and timing.
You will:
- Own daily production and quality across our bread and kitchen program
- Lead, train, and grow a team of bakers and kitchen staff
- Shape and maintain a seasonal 40–50 item menu
- Uphold product quality standards on every bake
- Oversee fermentation schedules, laminated pastry production, and production systems
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen
- Mentor junior staff, including culinary students and interns, as part of our partnership with local culinary programs
Qualifications
- 5+ years of sourdough artisan baking experience
- Skilled with sourdough breads and naturally leavened doughs
- Experience with laminated pastry production is a plus
- Calm, steady leadership with the ability to train and develop a team
- Deep care for texture, timing, and craftsmanship
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (California Food Handler / ServSafe a plus)
