Job Summary:
The Field Operations Support Specialist ensures smooth, efficient operations in the field by coordinating training, managing resources, and providing on-site support as needed. This role serves as a bridge between subcontractors, field crews, management, and multiple departments, with a focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with hands-on training for new hires on safety procedures, operational best practices, and company standards.
- Provide in-person guidance to crews as needed during installations and service to ensure quality and consistency.
- Assist in managing personal protective equipment (PPE) distribution, tracking, and stocking, ensuring compliance with company and OSHA safety requirements.
- Assist the Materials Department by performing regular inventory counts and assisting in controlling tools, materials, and supplies to prevent shortages or loss.
- Support the Fleet Manager with vehicle maintenance coordination and repair needs.
- Serve as support for field crews seeking assistance, troubleshooting issues before escalation.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to address field-related needs and improve operational efficiency, including but not limited to Salesforce entries.
- Participate in service calls and installations to provide hands-on coaching and reinforce proper procedures.
- Assist QC Department in verifying job completion through photo documentation and follow-up to ensure quality standards are met.
- Overall project management and pipeline visibility provided feedback loops as needed on issues, concerns, and improvements.
- Reviewing field staff timecards for accuracy and/or discrepancies as needed.
- At a minimum, one visit per week to the Springfield warehouse
- Assist with training/onboarding new subcontractors
- Field travel is required for this position.

Qualifications:
- 3+ years of solar field operations or related experience preferred.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of solar PV systems, including panels, inverters, racking, and balance-of-system components.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, including NEC Article 690, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience using hand and power tools and testing and commissioning solar PV systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and safely work on rooftops and ladders.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
- Familiarity with project management and reporting software preferred.
- NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification or relevant electrical license preferred.
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
