Duties
- Assist orthodontists during various procedures including bracket placement, wire adjustments, and appliance fittings with precision and efficiency.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Provide patient education on orthodontic care, appliance maintenance, and oral hygiene best practices to promote optimal results.
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed.
- Maintain strict infection control protocols through aseptic techniques, proper sterilization procedures, and adherence to OSHA standards.
Experience
- Previous experience working in orthodontics required
- Proficiency in dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting and taking X-rays.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance patient comfort and workflow efficiency. Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
