Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their visit
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Square POS.
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks following established recipes
- Handle cash transactions, process payments efficiently, and manage cash handling responsibilities with precision
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food prep stations and seating areas
- Ensure food safety standards are met by adhering to proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, including assembling food items or snacks for customers
- Manage multiple tasks effectively through strong time management skills in a busy environment
- Promote sales by engaging with customers about menu options and upselling products when appropriate
Qualifications
- Prior barista experience or coffee industry knowledge is highly preferred
- Proven customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude
- Experience operating POS systems such as Square POS system is desirable
- Strong time management abilities to handle high-volume periods efficiently
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and transaction accuracy
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk comfortably within the café space, and lift moderate loads when necessary
- Familiarity with food preparation, serving standards, and retail math concepts is a plus
