Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Support the Dietary department by helping with food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and cooking.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring all surfaces and equipment are sanitized.
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure the safe handling of all food items.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal service and customer satisfaction.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives and cooking appliances.
- Participate in inventory management by helping to track supplies and report shortages.
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or working within the food service industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation tasks.
- Basic cooking skills with familiarity in using kitchen tools such as knives and cooking appliances.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new techniques within the culinary field.
