Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility to promote independence and dignity
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to support health assessments
- Support residents with medication reminders and administration under supervision to ensure safety and compliance
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a warm and engaging environment
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and prevent injury
- Follow safe patient lifting practices and adhere to infection control protocols during all caregiving activities
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, light cleaning, and maintaining a clean, organized living space
- Document care activities accurately using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and communicate effectively with team members about resident needs
- Support residents with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease through specialized memory care techniques
- Participate in ongoing training including CPR, first aid, and behavior management to enhance caregiving skills
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, geriatrics, and long-term care best practices
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is highly desirable
- Certification in CPR and first aid required; additional certifications such as medication administration or EMR systems are a plus
- Ability to operate standard passenger vehicles for transportation needs when necessary
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely throughout shifts
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork

Pay: $11.00 - $12.50 per hour
