Duties
- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients to meet quality standards.
- Support cooking activities under supervision, ensuring dishes are prepared efficiently and safely.
- Handle food safely by following proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks such as moving supplies, ingredients, and equipment safely using proper lifting practices.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas by bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and sanitizing utensils and surfaces regularly.
- Operate POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for order processing and billing when required.
- Support banquet setups and service during events, ensuring timely food delivery and guest satisfaction.
- Assist with food safety protocols and report any hazards or issues to supervisors promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure seamless restaurant operations and guest services.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a strong understanding of kitchen operations.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and safe lifting practices to prevent injuries during manual tasks.
- Familiarity with cooking techniques and culinary processes essential for supporting kitchen activities.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina throughout shifts.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and deliver exceptional guest services.
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices in a fast-paced environment.
