You'll produce high-quality crude and distillate via short path distillation while maintaining full compliance with Montana Cannabis Control Division (CCD) and METRC requirements.
This is not an entry-level position. We're looking for a technician with real production experience who can step in and operate our equipment competently from day one.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Operate and maintain extraction and post-processing equipment, including vacuum pumps, rotary evaporators (rotovaps), short path setups, and related lab equipment
- Carry out winterization, filtration, decarboxylation, and solvent recovery
- Monitor and record temperatures, pressures, yields, and batch data accurately
- Maintain METRC seed-to-sale tracking entries for all material handled
- Keep the lab clean, organized, and compliant with safety and SOP standards
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and flag maintenance needs
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Current, valid Montana Marijuana Worker Permit (MIPP) — must be active at time of hire. Non-negotiable and will be verified.
- At least one year of verifiable hands-on experience with ethanol extraction (be prepared to provide references and/or documentation of prior production work)
- Verifiable experience with short path distillation
- Demonstrated proficiency operating vacuum pumps, rotovaps, and standard extraction lab equipment
- Solid understanding of lab safety, solvent handling, and ventilation requirements
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately document batch records within a compliance/tracking system
- Must be 21 or older and able to pass any background check required for Montana cannabis licensure
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
PREFERRED (NOT REQUIRED)
- Prior experience in a licensed Montana cannabis facility
- Familiarity with METRC
- Basic equipment maintenance and repair skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work around solvents and lab equipment
- Comfortable working in a temperature-controlled extraction environment
