The RNA Metabolism and Epitranscriptomics Unit in the National Cancer Institute's Laboratory of Cell Biology is now seeking a postdoctoral fellow.
Prospective candidates will join our research program to uncover how post-transcriptional RNA regulation is rewired in cancer to help tumor cells evade immune surveillance.
As such, this postdoc will work on a project at the interface of RNA biology and cancer research, combining molecular and cellular biology, CRISPR screens, functional genomics, and transcriptomic approaches to dissect the role of RNA regulation in the interaction between cancer cells and the immune system.
Our laboratory investigates how RNA post-transcriptional regulation shapes gene expression programs that drive cancer progression and resistance to therapy. We seek to understand how the cellular environment interfaces with RNA regulatory mechanisms to reprogram gene expression networks, enabling cancer cells to adapt, survive, and evade treatment. By defining these mechanisms, our work aims to address one of the most important problems in cancer biology: how tumors develop therapy resistance and how RNA-centered regulatory pathways can be targeted to overcome it.

Prospective applicants should hold a Ph.D. in cancer biology, molecular biology, RNA biology, biochemistry, genomics, and/or a related discipline, and have a strong foundation in molecular and cellular biology.
